Six GCT Girls Take Part in id2 Training

The Gulf Coast Texans are very proud to announce that six of our players were selected to take part in the Nike id2 Training, held in New Orleans last week.  The training was specific for 2000 birth year girls, with the players having been scouted and selected from GSPL regular season games.

National Staff coaches were conducting the sessions, with the possibility of inviting the best players to the National Training Camp in the Spring of 2015.

Congratulations to the following girls:

  • Brenda Bishop
  • Abby Jacobs
  • Grace Garbell
  • Kileigh Whited
  • Sophie Sanchez
  • Abby Yates

"This is a nice pat on the back for these girls, to show them they are on the right path and will provide them with motivation to keep working hard and keep developing," said Coach David Kemp, "US Club Soccer does a good job with Nike to set up these training centers and identify talent within the NPL system."

The Gulf States Premier League (GSPL) features the top clubs across the Gulf Coast and up into Jackson, MS.  It is part of the National Premier League (NPL) system run by US Club Soccer.
